Katy and I got away for a couple of days this past week. We needed it for sure. We just rested and enjoyed a few good meals. It was good to not do any work for several days.
On Saturday, I had the honor of taking pictures at the Freestone County Fair Children’s Pageant. It was such a blast. All of the girls did an outstanding job. The judges had to have a hard time selecting the winners.
The 102nd Freestone County Fair and Rodeo is taking place at the W.L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds in Fairfield this week. It has been a week full of fun for the entire family. Many memories have already been made and will continue to be made through the rodeo on Saturday night, June 15.
The sale of champions will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. The youngsters will get to sell their projects that they have spent numerous hours with over the past several months; some even longer. The businesses, organizations, and groups are amazing at supporting the youth every year at the county fair.
The 94th Annual Mexia Rodeo will be held June 20-22, at 7 p.m. each night. The 94th Annual Teague 4th of July Rodeo will be held July 4-6, at 8 p.m. each night. The famous chili dogs will once again be a hot item in the concession stand this year.
Make plans to attend these rodeos as well to support Freestone and Limestone County.
This week’s Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 16:13. It says, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
I have a cross on my desk with this verse on it. It is a daily reminder to me that I have to be strong and courageous.
Life isn’t going to be easy. There are going to be tough days.
We have to have a relationship with Christ and stand firm in our faith always.
This earth is only our temporary home. We are only going to be here for a short amount of time compared to eternity.
Let’s show other Christ’s love and remember that we are not promised tomorrow on this earth, but we are promised tomorrow with our Father in Heaven.
My prayer for us this week is that we will stand firm in our faith and not the things of this world. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
