MITCH’S CORNER
Needless to say, Katy and I slowed down a little bit this past week and rested some trying to recover from the great week at the Freestone County Fair. The Mexia Rodeo was held this past Thursday- Saturday.
The 94th Annual Teague 4th of July Rodeo begins next Thursday, July 4, and continues through Saturday night, July 6. This is an amazing rodeo that Katy and I have both been attending since we were born. Make sure to stop by the concession stand and get one of those world famous chili dogs.
Katy and I hope that everyone has a safe 4th of July this year. Summer is flying by way too fast. School will be starting again before we know it.
I love teaching and the relationships that I get to build with my students throughout the school year. I love driving the bus and getting to know more kids throughout the district as well. Photography is my passion and hobby and I am so thankful that I get to take pictures at so many events and write articles and submit pictures for The Fairfield Recorder and The Teague Chronicle.
Yes, we stay so busy; especially throughout the school year, but we wouldn’t change it for anything. We love being involved in the community and calling Freestone County home.
This week’s Bible verse is my favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11. It says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Sometimes in life, we can have things planned out and trips planned. However, at times, things come up and plans have to change. This can be very frustrating, but all we can do is turn to the Lord and pray.
God has a plan for each and every one of us. Sometimes, our plans will fall through. However, God has bigger and better plans for us. We just have to be patient and see what He does for us.
My prayer for us this week is that we will always turn to the Lord because he has a plan for us. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
