Centenarian Mildred Leona Harris says she regrets nothing and was happy to be alive to celebrate her birthday Thursday, Aug. 1.
When asked if she would like to live to be 110, she reportedly said, “Why not? It feels great to be 100, and only by the grace of God could I reach this age.”
Harris has lived a full life, experiencing both happiness and some heartache, according to a biography written by her daughter, Deborah Thomas, with whom she now lives in the Cotton Gin community in Freestone County.
