The Mighty Teague High School Marching Band earned straight 1s from all three judges for a superior performance at the UIL 3A Region 8 Marching Contest held at Troy High School on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The band earned a trip to the UIL 3A Area D Marching Contest on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Robinson High School in Waco.
“Words cannot begin to even describe how proud I am of these wonderful students and my staff. Having to go on paternity leave with my wife celebrating the life of our little girl, I had to leave behind my band coordinator and first-year assistants to help guide these students for three weeks all on their own,” THS band director Cory Hiles said. “When I came back we had to play catch up and I had to make adjustments to put our show on the field for region a few days ago and what is crazy is we are not even done with the full product yet.
