The Teague Lions football team scored on their first play of scrimmage Thursday night and never looked back. Teague rolled onto a 36-14 bi-district first round victory over the Cold Spring Trojans for the second consecutive season.
The Lions will travel to New Caney on Saturday, Nov. 26, to play Hitchcock for the area round match-up. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
On the opening play of the bi-district game, senior dual-threat quarterback Zak Leija found sophomore receiver Bryce Bates on a 73yard touchdown catch-andrun. Leija added the twopoint conversion on a run and the Lions led 8-0 with 11:48 to play in the first quarter.
