The Lady Lions traveled to Fairfield on Tuesday, Dec. 3, to take on the Fairfield Lady Eagles. Teague made it a great game. However, the Lady Eagles pulled away in the second half for a 55-33 home win.
Fairfield jumped out to a 10-2 lead, but Teague went on an 8-2 run to make it a two-point game, 12-10, at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Lions 14-12 in the second quarter to increase their lead to 26-22 at halftime.
Fairfield came out strong in the second half and put 17 points on the board while holding Teague to just 11, to take a 10-point lead, 43-33, into the final quarter of play. The Lady Eagles held the Lady Lions scoreless in the fourth quarter and scored 12 points for the 55-33 home victory.
A’Shaiya Jones led the way for Teague with 15 points. Jayci Phillips and Bethanah Owens added 9 points each.
Teague played Westwood on Tuesday, Dec. 10. The Lady Lions will compete in the Fairfield Tournament this weekend before hosting Buffalo next Tuesday, Dec. 17.
