Because of the majority of its players being on an area round football team, the Teague boys basketball team had a three-week delay to the start of its season. The Lions did win tier district opener over Buffalo 54-49.
Teague middle blocker Landree Bragg recently earned honorable mention All-State honors on the Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 3A All-State Team. Bragg, a senior, was one of the Lady Lions’ leaders in kills and blocks. She helped lead Teague to a 21-13 finish and a playoff appearance.
The Lady Lions are regrouping after a player injury. Senior guard Jolee Haley learned during the Christmas break that she tore her ACL and as a result, is out for the rest of the season.
The Lady Lions fell to Fairfield 64-31, but came back to sneak past Westwood by one, 37-36 in district play.
Both the Lady Lions and Lions fell to Groesbeck. However, they rebounded with wins over Buffalo 4335 and 56-28 respectively.

The Teague Lady Lions fell to Lorena 55-19 in the Bi-Distirct Championship at China Spring High School.
The Teague Lions and Fairfield Eagles were tied for fourthplace in district play. A 62-41 Fairfield win, ended the Lions season with an overall record of 10-14.
After an 0-2 start, the Teague softball team won nine of its last 10 games to begin the 2024 campaign with a 9-3 record.
March 2024
The Teague Lady Lions runrule Groesbeck 13-3 in their district opener.
Keely Mathis, a senior at Teague High School, signed with the University of Dallas to continue her softball career on Thursday, March 7. She will be playing infield, mainly shortstop.
The Lady Lions moved to 4-0 in district play with a 16-12 win over Fairfield, dominating Mexia 21-0, and a defensive slugfest against Buffalo 5-2.
The Teague Lions won its first district game over Buffalo 8-5 to move to 1-2 in district play.
April 2024
Ten Teague athletes, five male and five female, will compete in the Area Track Meet on Friday in McGregor. Advancing were Jehmel Rice, Kemauri Evans, J’Kybryen Harris, Bryce Bates, Zak Leija, Chloe Kuzmich, Deja Franklin, Vanessa Hernandez, A’Shaiya Jones, and Bethanah Owens.
The Teague Lions suffered a 6-3 setback at Fairfield, but then edged Mexia 5-4 in district play to remain in the playoff hunt this season.
The Teague Lady Lions continue theirwinningwayswitha11-8winover Fairfield and a 15-0 win over Mexia.
Jehmel Rice, Kemauri Evans, J’Kybryen Harris, Bryce Bates, and Zak Leija advanced to the Regional Track meet at Midway High School after earning multiple medals at Area.
J’Kybryen Harris advances to the State Track Meet in Triple Jump. He placed third at Regionals and earned the wild card berth to advance to state.

Jehmel Rice scored 16 points in the Victory Bowl to help lead his team to a 81-79 victory over the red team. Landree Bragg ended her career with a victory in the Victory Bowel volleyball match at University High School. Rowdy Phillips and Tylin Randle participated in the Victory Bowl football game as well.
The Lions are on the hunt again this season under leadership from Head Coach Zachary Linscomb.
Ashley Hiles is ready to lead the Lady Lions volleyball team again this season with assistance from Sarah Beaird.
The Lions and Lady Lions started the season off with their first practice on Monday morning,Aug. 5.

Chloe Kuzmich and Felipe Diaz advance to the Regional Cross Country Meet in Huntsville on Tuesday, Oct. 22, after taking second and seventh place respectively.
The Teague Lions traveled to Fairfield and fell to the Eagles for the first time since 2011, 50-43.
The Teague Lions bounced back big with a 57-19 win over the Crockett Bulldogs.
Westwood ISD Football Coach Richard Bishop was suspended for video-taping/filming/ recording district opponents of an athletics contest without prior consent of the schools competing in the contest. Westwood ISD technology assistant Don Mc-Coty was suspended from all District 9-3A athletic events as well.
November 2024
J’Kybryen Harris caught all seven passes thrown as the Lions bedeviled Hungtington 57-13.
The Lady Lions volleyball team fell to Franklin in the Bi-District Championship 2514, 25-16, and 25-16.
The Teague Lions claimed the Bi-District title with a 36-14 victory over the Cold Spring Trojans.
The Teague Lions football season came to an end with a 5614 loss to Hitchcock in the Area Championship.

The Lady Lions basketball team fell to the Fairfield Lady Eagles in their district opener 55-33.
