The Teague Lions basketball team bounced back from a Jan. 7 road loss at Mexia with a 50-40 home win over Elkhart on Friday, Jan 10. After three straight district losses, it was Teague’s first win of the season in District 203A Division 3 competition. Meanwhile, Elkhart remains winless in district play at 0-4.
Brayden Leija led Teague in scoring with 11 points on 4-of-16 shooting from the field. He also added eight rebounds and three assists. Cliff Coleman contributed with 10 points, six steals, two rebounds and two assists in the victory.
The Lions were in action Tuesday evening at home against Fairfield, who sported a 1-2 district record coming into the matchup. Results will be available in the next edition.
