The Teague Senior LTD, affordable senior housing, is completed on six acres in the 700 block of U.S. Highway 84 in Teague. Citizens started moving in to begin the new year.
There are 32 units in the development. A one-bedroom rents for $650 and a two-bedroom for $795. Water, sewage and garbage service is included in the rent.
There are 16 one-bedroom homes that are 1,000 square feet and 16 two-bedrooms homes that are 1,150 square feet. All the homes are one-story and feature front and back doors with 9-foot ceilings. All the units have washer and dryer connections, central heat and air, and are high efficiency living spaces.
There are other affordable rental complexes for seniors in Freestone County, but this development is the first one to be considered a luxury style.
Applications are currently being taken to lease a home at the Teague Senior LTD.
Landowner and developer Emanuel Glockzin Jr., also has similar properties in Kennedale, Huntsville and El Campo.
