It was a record for the Teague Young Farmers annual ValenSwine Show on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Leon County Expo Center as exhibitors came out and showed a total of 160 pigs.
¨It was a great show with lots of great help putting it on. It was an all time high with how many pigs we had,” Teague FFA Advisor Leana Gore said. “Normally, we have 130, but we had 30 more this year. We had people from all over the state come out. Some came from five hours away, so it was amazing.”
When all was said and done, Madion Hunzeker exhibited the Overall Grand Champion Hog and Trevor Devrow the Overall Reserve Champion Hog in Ring A.
In Ring B, Madison James walked away with the Overall Grand Champion Hog honor and Presley Standfield had the Overall Reserve Champion Hog.
Sponsors for the Valenswine Show were Pawz & Clawz Pet Boarding, Rachel Anderson Real Estate, Bowers Funeral Home, Jones Funeral Home, Kameryn’s Nana & Papa, Kendall & Chandler Rogers, Todd & Kayla Craig, Paris Family, Mathison Family, Thompson Family, McSwane Real Estate, Service Truck Depot, D&D Cattle Company, Lariat RV Solutions, Lester’s Tamales, 3W Truck Beds & Diesel Worx, Hilltop Welding Services, JGBAkin Consulting, Texas Farm Bureau, and Craig Ranch.
