Commissioners aim at keeping same tax rate

Freestone County Commissioners are aiming to keep the county tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, the same as the current year.

The current tax rate is $0.3219 per $100 valuation. .

The court has been working intensely on the upcoming budget, looking for ways to cut corners, especially since citizens are struggling with inflation in other areas.
