The Teague Lions powerlifting team took 11th place in a 14-team field on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Leon Last Chance Meet. Teague logged a total score of eight points while Milano placed first with a team score of 27.
In the super heavyweight class, Nicolas Case was one of Teague’s top performers at the meet. Case squatted 475 pounds, bench pressed 305 pounds and deadlifted 410 pounds for a total score of 1190. He weighed in for the event at 316 pounds.
In the 242-pound division, Kyle Shugart took fourth. Weighing 221.6 pounds, Shugart squatted 375, benched 230 and deadlifted 350 for a total score of 955. Case and Shugart were Teague’s only top-five finishers at the meet.
