The Teague Lions grabbed third place overall out of nine schools at the Fairfield track meet last Thursday, March 6. Teague scored 120 points behind Kerens with 145 points and Fairfield 143 points.
Brayden Leija took third place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 18.163.
In the 100m dash, Bryce Bates ran a 11.926 for a fourth place finish.
B. Bates, J’Kybryen Harris, Garrett Winkler, and Landon Bates took third place in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:35.359.
Felipe Diaz garnered fourth place in the 1600m run with a 5:23.940 and third place in the 3200m run with a time of 11:41.952.
In the 4x100m relay, B. Bates, Harris, Zakary Leija, and Winkler grabbed second place with a time of 44.343.
Z. Leija placed third in the 400m dash with a time of 54.873.
In the 300m hurdles, B. Leija grabbed second place and Clifford Coleman fourth place with a 45.827 and 47.697 respectively.
Kaedyn Ovalle ran a 24.642 in the 200m dash for a fifth place finish.
K. Ovalle, Z. Leija, Winkler, and L. Bates ran a 4:03.338 in the 4x400m relay to grab fifth place.
Harris placed first in the long jump competition with a distance of 23’4½”.
In the shot put contest, Jacob Matthews, Coaster, and Caiden Hullum placed first, second and third place respectively. They threw 42’10¼”, 40’7”, and 37’9½”.
Harris grabbed second in the triple jump with a 44’7¼” jump and B. Bates took third with a 43’1½” jump.
The Lions will compete in the Buffalo track meet on Thursday, March 20.
