The Fairfield FCCLA brought home five gold and three silver medals from the State FCCLA Conference held Friday, April 11, through Sunday, April 13, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
“I am so proud of this group of students. This year, they have spent several hours per week after school enhancing their leadership, communication, conflict resolution, project management, and teamwork skills. I strongly believe that participating in FCCLA (and other career and technical student organizations) has a profound impact on students; it fosters not only technical skills but also confidence and resilience,” Fairfield FCCLA Advisor Martha Holland said. “I have seen students grow tremendously as they navigate challenges, collaborate with peers, and present their work. The competition serves as a critical platform for personal and professional development, instilling essential skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and networking that are invaluable for their future careers.”
Kynzee Payne, Addison Bailes, Zoe Guillotte, and Judary Ledezma were gold medalists in Creed, Mission and Purposes Family & Consumer Sciences Assessments (FCSA). Guillotte and Ledezma achieved perfect scores.
In Etiquette FCSA, Justus Savage earned a gold medal.
Rey Ramirez, Jenae Weathered, and Paisley Robinson were silver medalists in Etiquette FCSA.
These students qualified to compete at State by either placing in the Top 5 at Regionals in a speaking event or by taking a FCSA and earning a gold medal. Only the Top 2 teams or individuals in speaking events advance to the National level in July. There are no FCSAs at Nationals.
