Limestone Medical Center CEO Larry Price is this year’s recipient of the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals’ (TORCH) annual award.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement by rural hospital leaders and their dedication to the profession. The award began 26 years ago in honor of Gordon Russell who was the administrator of Hi-Plains Hospital for more than 40 years and a former mayor of Hale Center, Texas.
Price began his career in health care at the hospital and has served the residents of Groesbeck and the surrounding communities for the last 43 years.
“Larry is very dedicated to his employees, community and family,” said Adam Willmann, President and CEO of Goodall-Witcher Hospital, who presented Larry his award. “He is a strong man of faith. That faith serving as his foundation in his work and life. He is one of the humblest men I know. He is very quick to credit his staff for all the success at Limestone and is loved and respected by all who work with him. There is no one more deserving of this award than Larry.”
Price is a member of Groesbeck Church of Christ where he attends worship. He is very active in Groesbeck Lions Club and was Lion of the Year 2024; president from 2022-2023 and is a lifetime member of Texas Lions Camp. He is a member of the TORCH Board of Directors who advocate and serve all rural hospitals across the state. He is a member of the Groesbeck Masonic Lodge #354 and received the prestigious Golden Trowel Award in February.
Price has been married to his wife, Dawn, for over 35 years and together they love spending time with their family. They have three adult children — Laci, Amy and Cody — and have four grandchildren with one more expected in June. They are avid pet advocates and are pet parents to several dogs and cats.
