Pullin named Ambassador of the Year

Diane Pullin was named the 2024 Ambassador of the Year for the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce recently.

“It was very unexpected. I just love this community,” Pullin said. “I am not from this community, but I love promoting all that our city and merchants have to offer. I am blessed to receive an award for doing what I love to do.”

Pullin and her husband, Brad, have been married for 52 years. They moved to Fairfield in 2006 to property that had been in Brad’s family since 1834. Their family has been living on the property since 1851.

Brad’s third great grandfather F.M. Bradley lived on the property. WL Moody was Brad’s third great aunt.

Pullin said it had always been her husband’s dream to be able to move home to the family land, which they did once he retired.

Throughout the year, Pullin was active with the Easter Eggstravaganza, Lemonade Day, Tea with Miss Texas, Fireworks at the Fairgrounds, Show of Wheels, Breakfast with Santa, Boo on the Square, Christmas on the Square, and Jingle All The Way.

“I’m just so thankful that the community has embraced me as a move-in,” Pullin said. “Everyone is so friendly. The Chamber impresses me with all that they offer to our community. I just love helping out.”

While participating in chamber events, Pullin has been glued, glittered and painted on in weather that can be brutal; ranging from 30 degrees to 110 degrees.

“Through it all Diane is always willing to lend a helping hand,” Directors of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce said. “Needless to say, she is our eyes and ears and knows how to keep us in line.”

Pullin is also involved in the Fairfield History Club, Weather Across America, Freestone County Historical Museum, Freestone County Historical Commission, Jonathan Hardin Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution, and the Fairfi eld Presbyterian Church.
