May is here which means that summer break is just around the corner. There are only two and a half weeks of school left.
Freestone County was the place to be this past weekend. The Freestone County Go Texan committee held its 4th Annual BBQ Cook Off April 25-26. It was amazing seeing all of the community members come out to support the Freestone County Go Texan committee as they raised money for their scholarship fund. The park was full of people camping out and enjoying the weekend.
The 103rd Annual Freestone County Fair and Rodeo is just about six weeks away. This year’s event will be held June 16-21 at the W.L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds so make plans to attend. There are some great things happening at this year’s fair.
This week’s Bible verse is Thessalonians 5:11. It says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
A couple of weeks ago, I came home and our yard was mowed. I have asked around and still have no clue who mowed our yard, but I am so thankful since we have been so busy. The other day a colleague bought my lunch. A sweet business in town has provided teachers with lunch everyday on STAAR testing days. It is things like this that keep me going. So encourage someone today with a little gift or some type of encouragement. It will go a long way.
As I say all the time, this world that we live in can be very stressful. A little encouragement can go a long way. This week, I pray that you can find a way to encourage those around you. We are all dealing with various things in our lives and we can be that light for someone in our life.
I can think of multiple times in my life that I have been down and out or stressed to my limit and someone encouraged me and made my day. Let’s be a light for others around us that God has put in our lives.
My prayer for us this week is that we will encourage one another and build each other up. Until next week, make him famous in all that you do!
