The Jaded Spade was awarded the Small Business of the Year Award for 2024 recently.
“It means a lot to me, especially since we have only been in business for a short time,” owner Jamie Knight said. “I am still in shock about receiving this award a month later.”
Knight joined the Fairfi eld Chamber of Commerce in 2021 with her mobile boutique. Her dream finally became a reality on June 8, 2024 when she was able to open a store front.
“She and her team have created an amazing space,” directors of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce said. “When walking through the door for the first time, you just have to say ‘Wow’.”
She carries a selection of household items, men/women/ children clothing, vintage items, antiques, jewelry, shoes, a trucker hat bar, and much more.
Recently, Knight purchased the old Radio Shack building next door. Construction is now underway for another new adventure, which is set to be a salon on one end and a small affordable venue for birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, and company lunches in the back.
Throughout the year, she has supported and donated to Big T Memorial Cookoff, Go Texas Scholarship Committee Group, Kindness from Case Memorial Foundation, Miss Freestone County Pageant, and pretty much anyone who walks through her doors.
In her spare time, Knight loves to spend time with her family and working her side gig, The Jaded Karaoke.
Knight said she couldn’t do it without Trent Neely and “her village”, which includes all of her family.
Knight started attending Fairfield ISD when she was a fourth grader and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1989.
“It means a lot to me that I am able to have a business in my hometown,” Knight said. “Being supported by Fairfi eld and Freestone County means the world to me.”
