Woodall and Townsend honored at soil and water conservation contest

The Area IV Conservation Awards Banquet recognizing Outstanding Conservationist in many areas was held on Thursday evening, May 1, at the Rusk Civic Center. Areas included Poster Contest, Essay Contest, Conservation Teachers, Ranchers and Farmers from the 37 counties that make up Texas Area IV.

Freestone County Soil & Water Conservation District #424 was honored to have 1st Place Jr. Essay Winner Tyler Woodall as well as 3rd Place Jr. Essay Winner Landon Townsend recognized.

Both young men are good friends and with their families celebrated together. Tyler Woodall was also chosen as the Texas State Jr. Conservation Essay Winner and will be acknowledged at the 85th Annual Texas State Soil & Water District Director Meeting to be held at Kalahari in Round Rock TX September 30th.
