Freestone County Commissioners Court continued working on the upcoming budget during the Aug. 14 meeting, examining details of every departm ent, and so far plan to keep the tax rate the same as the current rate. A final vote was to be taken at the Wednesday, Aug. 21, meeting.
The court members have been holding special meetings to go over details of each department and its positions.
In other matters, the court members agreed at their Aug. 14 meeting to enact the burn ban, effective immediately. That means no outdoor burning.
