The Fairfield Eagles defeated the Little River Academy Bees in the Bi-District Championship in a best of three series this past week. Fairfield moves to 19-5 on the season.
“I am super proud of our players,” Coach Dalton Tharp said. “Our kids were resilient and never flinched. Even when we dropped the first game of the series, we knew what was at stake. We took the mentality of there is no tomorrow. Win the war, not the battle. Our kids embraced that and played fearlessly the rest of the series.”
Fairfield will now take on the Whitney Wildcats (19-9) in the Area Championship this weekend at Ennis High School. The first game is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. The second game is scheduled for Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m. The third game, if necessary, will be played on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m.
