Just this past weekend many of you exercised your right to vote by casting your ballot in municipal elections across the district. I want to thank all of those who exercised this right and congratulate all of the candidates who came out on top! In light of this, I believe it is only right to use this week’s column to inform you on what I am doing in the Texas House to secure our elections for generations to come.
Before I was elected to the Texas House, I served as an election judge right here in our community. I know what it’s like to show up before sunrise, organize ballots, assist voters, and stay late to make sure every vote is counted properly. I also know just how seriously our election workers take their job—because I’ve stood beside them.
To all the election judges, clerks, and volunteers across House District 13 and the entire state: thank you. You are the backbone of our democratic process. Your commitment to honesty and fairness gives Texans confidence in our elections.
