Another successful week at our center! We enjoyed excellent meals and the camaraderie that comes with them. Can you believe it’s already May? Graduation is just around the corner, and summer is fast approaching.
A special thanks to Sharon and Brenda for bringing cookies and donuts to kick off our week; we truly have wonderful people among us! Thanks to Peggy for the large supply of napkins for our dining room. She’s very observant and it’s always watching out for us.
I want to give a shoutout to Debbie Tugwell for supplying coffee stir spoons and an abundance of birthday plates and bowls for our ice cream. Additionally, thanks to Jennifer for her generous donation of a nice backpack, travel bag, assorted greeting cards, and more to enhance our door prizes and special drawings throughout the month.
We celebrated our endof- the-month birthday party on Wednesday, April 30, for Colleen, Steven Senter, and Barbara Heggins. In addition to our traditional vanilla and strawberry Blue Bell ice cream, we had a delightful surprise from Erin at Fairfi eld Nursing and Rehab, who treated us to 30 beautiful and delicious cupcakes!
A big thank you to Colleen for not only serving lunch in Mike’s absence but also for assisting with the bingo setup and the birthday party. I also appreciate Jennifer, Sonya, and London for stepping up with the refreshments and helping with kitchen cleanup, and Jennifer for collecting our bingo and blackout prizes, as well as organizing the event. We owe our anonymous sponsor a huge thank you for providing the funds for this.
And then the rain hit!
What a way to wrap up our week! Everything is so lush and green; I’m relieved everyone is safe. Many have shared their experiences driving during the storm, and I’m grateful they made it through. It was fantastic to see our friends Kathy and Jimmy back for lunch after their absence. We truly missed them, and it was great that they returned for Bingo, too.
Remember to keep our men and women in the military in your thoughts and prayers, as well as our country and community. Our sincere condolences go out to those who have recently lost loved ones.
We invite you to visit us; we’re open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Start your day with us — stop by early for coffee with friends or a game of dominoes. I’ll be announcing new information next week about a guest speaker who will visit us once a month to share vital medical information and answer questions. Stay tuned for the details. Thank you, and God bless!
