Austin Solis, a junior at Fairfield High School, competed at the Regional Tennis Tournament at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station on Friday, May 9.
Solis took on Rigby Bailes from Cold Spring High School. Solis won the first match 6-4 before falling in the second match 6-4. In the tie breaker, Bailes defeated Solis 7-6 to move on in the tournament.
“It was an honor to compete at Regionals, it gave me the foresight to prepare for next year,” Solis said. “I am focusing on developing my strategic game, as well as my metal game in the coming year. I will be registering for tournaments throughout the off season, aside from practicing and training. My senior year is going to be one for the books.”
