RENE’ DEE E

RENE’ DEE E RWIN

In Loving Memory of Rene’ Dee Erwin. July 27, 1951 – April 7, 2025 With deep sorrow and abiding faith, we announce that Rene’ Dee Erwin went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born on July 27, 1951, in Pasadena, Texas, Rene’ was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, and friend. Her unwavering trust in God was a great comfort to her and she did her best to live her life as a reflection of Christ’s love. She had the capacity to share great kindness, compassion, and strength with those around her.

Rene’ was devoted to her family and she loved nothing more than to spend time with them. She spoke often of the old days when our family gatherings were large, loud, and somewhat chaotic. There was always more than enough good old-fashioned southern food to go around, and this was in no small part thanks to Rene’.

Rene’ is survived by her loving husband, Tom Erwin, son and daughter-in-law Dale and Tammy McWhirter, son and daughter-in-law John and Gina McWhirter, her siblings Kay Sandefer, Emmett Bingham, and Annette Bingham. Rene’ is survived by her grandchildren John Dale McWhirter, Trendell McWhirter, and his son Trendell Emelio McWhirter, Gage McWhirter, Brooke McWhirter, Bailey McWhirter, Cutter McWhirter, Caden McWhirter, and John David McWhirter. Rene’ is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

Rene’ is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Bell Hoce and Johnnie Washington Martin, her siblings Jean Dunn, Rex Martin, and Mary Hamilton, and her grandson, Tyler McWhirter.

A celebration of Rene’s life will be held on May 17, 202,5 at 1 pm at Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfi eld, Texas, where we will gather in gratitude for her life and the hope we have in Christ. All are welcome to join us in honoring her memory.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 Rene’s light will continue to shine in our hearts until we meet again in glory.
