Fairfield Council discusses city’s stray dog problem

Council members Rick Edgett, Place 3; Joshua Bayless, Place 4 and Angela Oglesbee, Place 5 took their oath of office to serve on the Fairfield City Council at the conclusion of the monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 13.

Edgett received 98 votes on Election Day, May 3, to defeat Bill Freeman who received 74 votes and Marcus Mason 62 votes. Bayless received a total of 227 votes as Roger Keeton received 53. Oglesbee ran unopposed and received 251 votes.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Bobby Nichols noted that he had a concerned citizen reach out about handicap parking spots at the softball field. He said that he appreciates the community members reaching out with their concerns.
