The Fairfield Police Department will soon be adding four new pursuit vehicles to their fleet after the Fairfield City Council approved a proposal from Government Capital for the financing of four Dodge Durango pursuit vehicles with upfit in a special called meeting on Wednesday, May 28, at 12 p.m.
Fairfield Police Department Assistant Chief Albert Gallegos, Jr, was present at the meeting to discuss the vehicles and answer any questions the council had. He noted their pursuit vehicles idle for 24-48 hours at a time.
The four vehicles will be heading to get upfitted soon before being delivered to Fairfield. According to City Secretary Misty Richardson, the vehicles will be on the budget for this upcoming year. Once signing the contract, the city has one year before having to make their first payment. The contract is on a fiveyear term.
