Blake Phillips of Fairfi eld FFA built a 150 gallon propane BBQ pit with his grandpa, Stevie Splawn, to show at the Freestone County Ag Mechanics Show and won first place in his division on Monday, June 16.
“It was my favorite Ag Mechanic experience for sure,” Phillips said. “My grandpa taught me a lot. He taught me tips and tricks that he learned throughout his life. It was just really special getting to build it with my grandpa.”
This will be Phillips’ ninth year to show at the County Fair. It was his third year to show in the Ag Mechanics Show.
