Freestone County Judge Declares Disaster

Freestone County Judge Linda Grant issued a local state of disaster declaration on Friday morning, June 13.

According to the declaration, Freestone County has suffered widespread severe damage, injury, or loss of property resulting from severe storms and flooding events that includes heavy rainfall, flash flooding, river flooding, large hail, hazardous wind gusts throughout the county during unusually heavy rains occuring on May 28 and continuing thereafter.

The declaration will not continue for a period of more than seven days unless renewed by the Freestone County Commissioners Court.
