Fairfield Economic Development Corporation President David Fowler presented a letter of support with TxDot for a request to remove a denial of access to the frontage road for I-45 to the Fairfield City Council at their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, June 10.

According to Fowler, Stacy Dodd has 68 acres located off of Hwy 84 and the I-45 frontage road that goes back behind Hotel Blue and Tractor Supply. Dodd has spent finances on getting the property ready for future retail businesses. There is access to the property off of Hwy 84, but there is currently a denial of access to frontage road for I-45 dated back to 1965.

Dodd has asked the Fairfi eld EDC to help with the matter. Fowler noted they would be requesting one access point from the I-45 frontage road to access the property at a future Highway Commission meeting in Austin over the next several months.
