If you enjoy reading about life in the 1930’s in the surrounding communities of Teague, Texas, you will want to read “Stories From My Life’s Journey” written by Orval Barger. He has donated two of his books to Teague Library.

Orval graduated from Teague High School with the Class of 1948.

Orval tells of his life growing up in the Cedar community, five miles South of Teague. He was the son of a farmer and rural preacher, W.M. (Mitchell) Barger and Climmie Sartor Barger. He had three brothers, Homer, W.C. (Cleofus) and Herbert and two sisters, Gracie and Opal.
