Teague Senior News

Attendance was down last week, as many of our friends were out of town, had appointments, or were staying cool during the summer heat. We understand, but we miss seeing everyone at their tables and hope to welcome them back soon. This week will be busy for the City of Teague, with Thursday’s hamburger event, the parade, and the famous annual Teague Rodeo. Please remember to take caution with the outdoor temperatures and ensure that you, your pets, and your plants stay hydrated.

A special thank you to our wonderful Sharon and Peggy for providing cookies for our morningĝv coffee group. We sure missed Margaret this past week. Not only is she invaluable in assisting Mike with lunch service, but she also adds a touch of entertainment to our coffee group.

What a delightful surprise we had on Monday before lunch! One of our dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteers, Carol Biggar, surprised us at the back door. We’ve missed her tremendously while she has been recovering from surgery, and unable to deliver to her favorite people on Route 2. It was fantastic to hear her voice again, and she even joined us for lunch and a catch-up. She always brightens the room and loves to tease Mike, who happily returns the favor!
