The Wortham Bulldogs football team opened up the season with a 24-12 win Friday night, Aug. 30, in Valley Mills against the Eagles.
Wortham quarterback Jon Ross Black had a major impact in the victory. He rushed for a team-high 84 yards on 19 carries and scored three touchdowns on the ground. Through the air, Black completed 5-of-16 passes for 41 yards.
Kymani Johnson was Wortham’s leading receiver in the contest. He caught four passes for 32 yards.
