The Fairfield Lady Eagles traveled to Leon last Tuesday, Aug, 27, to take on the Lady Cougars. The Lady Eagles fought hard and had the lead in each set, but the Lady Cougars came out ahead for the home victory in four sets.
Leon won the first two sets with a score of 25-23. Fairfield came back in the third set to win 25-19 to force a fourth set. The Lady Cougars came out on top 25-21 for the home win.
“Overall, the girls are performing much better than they think they are. Skill-wise, we were behind when I arrived at Fairfield,” Head Coach Kelly Ridge said. “The girls are working hard every day to improve their skills. We get better each day, and I know it will all come together.”
