Most Limestone and Freestone Counties’ cities showed increases in sales tax revenue for June, compared to the same month a year ago.
In Mexia, the revenue rose by 4.8% to $299,799 from $286,057 last year; Groesbeck by 9% to $110,400 from $101,282; and Kosse by 39.03% to $16,263 from $11,698. In Coolidge, revenue decreased by 9.11% to $3,355 from $3,692 and Thornton also decreased 7.62% to $3,084 from $3,339.
In Teague, the revenue rose by 30.07% to $80,868 from $62,168; Streetman increased by 5.95% to $7,955 from $7508; and Wortham rose 6.86% to $25,637 from $23,991. In Fairfield, the revenue decreased by 28.33% to $215,374 from $300,513.
