Cooler temps bring more fish

Here’s hoping everyone had a nice Labor Day Holiday weekend with friends and family and got to enjoy some of the milder temperature and weather conditions! The spotty showers and brisk north/northeast wind resulted in lower temperatures and brought on thoughts of an early fall and the great weather conditions that come with the months of October and November!

The late summer weather conditions have caused the white bass and hybrid stripers to mostly disappear for a few days and fishing will probably be the same much of September. So, Adam and I have bought some extra Danny Kings Punch Bait, another bag or two of Range Cubes for chum, and have put the catfish rods in the boats for the next few trips!

We ended this past week with both boats on the lake on Saturday and headed up the Richland Arm of the lake with the timber in the shallow water being targeted. We counted on lots of “Eater Size” channel and blue cats being there and we weren’t disappointed. I had a two-person party and we had our 50-fish limit by late morning (see photo) and Adam’s three-person party caught their 75-fish limit.
