ROY W ELCH
Graveside services for Roy Welch, age 76, were held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sardis Cemetery near Jewett. Rev. Richard Gillet will officiate.
Visitation was held on Wednesday with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.Mr. Welch passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Fairfield Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born and raised in Jewett and traveled all over the country during his lifetime. He worked as a construction supervisor for several companies including A. L. Helmcamp and J & S Construction. Mr. Welch was also a longtime rancher and loved hunting, especially coon hunting and training dogs. He was a Baptist
by faith.
He is survived by one son, Roy Jay Welch & wife Michelle of Fairfield; two daughters, Kristen Welch of Jewett and Rosalind Joy Smith of Waco; four grandchildren, Hunter Welch, Jace Welch, Michael Stamper, and Mikaela Stamper; two great-grandchildren, Malechi Stamper and Jaxie Stamper; three sisters, Cleata Welch Close, Betty Welch Kephart, and Judy Welch Hennesey; one brother, Glenn Dale Welch, Sr. & wife Debbie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his parents, Halberry & Minnie Welch; one brother, Jerald Welch; and one sister, Loretta Coote.
He leaves behind good friends, great memories, and a pair of good hunting dogs.
