The Fairfield Police Department is adding a K-9 unit to their department soon. Farock, who is currently undergoing training, will join the department next month and will be sworn in as an officer, issued a vest, and equipped with a body camera.
Officer Joseph Silas has been designated as the K-9 handler. Silas will travel to Mississippi the first week of August for training before returning with Farock for the department.
“This marks an exciting milestone for the police department and the city,” Chief David Utsey said. “We will continue to modernize our department to meet the evolving needs of our citizens and officers.”
