Woods Retires, Jones Appointed Interim Public Works Director

Clyde Woods, Public Works Director for the City of Fairfield, announced his retirement effective Friday, July 18, during the City of Fairfield City Council meeting on Tuesday evening, July 8. Following a short executive session at the end of the meeting, the council appointed James Jones as the Interim Public Works Director for the City of Fairfield, effective July 18.

Woods has worked for the City of Fairfield for the past 20 years. He began his career with the City on March 14, 2005 as a water meter reader.

¨I want to thank the City of Fairfield for the 20 years they have given me,” Woods said. “I have had a great career here.”
