City of Teague Condemns Seven More Properties

The City of Teague condemned seven more properties on Monday night, July 21, at their monthly meeting. All aldermen were present for the meeting.

Chief of Police DeWayne Philpott presented seven properties in an hour-long presentation including, 513 Walnut Street, 621 Spruce Street, 416 N. 8th Ave, 316 Main Street, 421 Cypress Street, 316 Walnut, and 300 Block of Cedar.

The properties showed damaged structures, collapsed roofs, broken windows, open doors, and overgrowth. Philpott noted that the property at 421 Cypress had been burned down on Dec. 20, 2024 by a squatter. He noted that this is the main reason these properties needed to be boarded up.
