A new roof is currently being put on the Freestone County Courthouse. The project, which began on Monday, July 20, is not a part of the grant for the courthouse restoration.

According to Judge Linda Grant’s Administrative Assistant Karen Moore, the roofing project will take approximately three weeks to complete.

Sterling & Kap Architects, LLC of Waco have completed the 100% plan for the Freestone County Courthouse restoration project. Moore noted that the plan has been given to the Texas Historical Commission for their approval.
