After an absence of seven years, former Mexia News/ Groesbeck Journal sports editor Stephen Farris is returning to jump back into his role.
During his absence, Farris has spent time as a freelance writer for severalnewspapersaroundthearea, which included his coverage of Groesbeck football and basketball in 2024-25.
He first joined the Mexia staff in 2012 and semi-retired in 2018.
