Show of Wheels draws large crowd to downtown Fairfield

There were a total of 174 entries at the 26th Annual Show of Wheels hosted by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Freestone County Courthouse. Many local citizens and those from out of town enjoyed strolling through the courthouse square area looking at all of the vehicles on display.

Many local citizens and those from out of town enjoyed strolling through the courthouse square area looking at all of the vehicles on display.

“It was amazing and the biggest show that we can recall,” Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brenda Pate said. “Thank you for all the wonderful support from our community and beyond. Love where you live!”

The Best in Show Award and $500 went to Terry Mc-Carroll with his 1957 Chevy BellAir. David Ahlf won the Contestant’s Choice Award and $150 with his 1941 Ford Half-Ton. Randy Self won the Who Drove the Furthest Award as he drove his 1963 Chevy Nova from Broken Arrow, Okla.
