Coolidge, Groesbeck, Mexia, and Wortham volleyball teams opened season play this past week, in regular match action and tournament play over the weekend. How did the teams do this past week and weekend? Let’s break it down and take a look!
Coolidge
The Lady Yellowjackets varsity volleyball team got off to a tough start last week, falling to Aquilla in their season opener, then to Blooming Grove and Abbott in match play as the week folded at the Covington Tournament. The JV team jumped out to a (3-0) start, with two wins over Aquilla, and another against Gholson. The varsity team was scheduled to play Wortham at home Tuesday, at 6 p.m., then will play in the Dawson Tournament Aug. 21-23.
