The Fairfield Eagles scrimmaged the Athens Hornets on Friday evening, Aug. 15, in Athens.
“The scrimmage against Athens was a success,” Head Coach John Bachtel said. “We got to see a lot of great things and a lot of things we still have to work on. It was awesome competing against Athens. They have three teams: freshman, JV, and Varsity. All our kids got to play and got on film. Athens has a good team. I felt like we held our own in the scrimmage.”
In the Varsity scrimmage, Kohl Collins threw two touchdown passes to Finn Smith. Connor Colvert had a big interception on defense as well.
