It’s Gridiron Magic Time Here in the Bi-Stone as High School Football Returns

Friday night can’t get here quick enough for area teams, as the lights come back on and the hard-hitting action gets underway with the return of high school football. Scrimmages are over, and it’s time to see who will make it to the playoffs this season, and possibly to the state title game in 2025. Let’s take a look at where our local teams will be playing.

Coolidge Yellowjackets (121A, Six-Man, DI) vs. Blum Bobcats (9-1A, Six-Man, DI) Coolidge has the lead over Blum with a record of ( 10- 7) since 1980 Fans will pack Coolidge Yellow Jacket Athletic Complex this Friday night, to watch the Jackets take on the Blum Bobcats. New head football coach Thomas Tritz is excited to be in Jacket Nation this season, with six starters in all returning from a 2024 squad that finished (2-2, 6-4). He’ll have to athletes, Devonta Johnson, and Jacoby Brown, that will turn heads this year. Both stand over 6’, and the Jackets will benefit from their play on both sides of the ball. Plus, you gotta keep your eye on QB/DB Jakobe Brown, with his speed and athleticism.

The Bobcats have 10 returnees from last seasons (5-5) team. Coach Cooper Thornhill could see his team make a run for the district’s top spot in 2025.
