What a weekend it was for area volleyball teams, as the season is starting to go full throttle. Most of the area teams competed in weekend tournaments, and that included the Groesbeck Lady Goats hosting and playing in their own, Groesbeck Back to School Bash! Let’s take a look and see how all of our coverage teams fared last week and weekend, shall we!
The Coolidge Lady Yellowjackets continue to fight hard for wins, but came up short last week, falling to the Wortham Lady Bulldogs in three sets, then dropping matches to Dawson, Penelope, Rice, and Italy in the Dawson volleyball tournament.
The Wortham Lady Bulldogs competed in the Groesbeck tournament, finishing as the Consolation Champion, defeating Blooming Grove (again) in three sets, 23-25, 25-10, 15-9. The Lady Bulldogs pick up more wins in the tournament, beating Bosqueville in three sets, 18-25, 25-20, 16-14; swept Bremond in two sets, 25-18, 25-20, and swept Blooming Grove in the early rounds, 25-15, 25-10.
