Lady Eagles knock off Teague in their district-opener

The Fairfield Lady Eagles traveled to Teague on Friday afternoon, Sept. 13, and defeated the Lady Lions in three straight sets 25-22, 25-13 nd 25-19. The Lady Eagles move to 15-11 overall and 1-0 in district play.

The Fairfield Lady Eagles traveled to Teague on Friday afternoon, Sept. 13, and defeated the Lady Lions in three straight sets 25-22, 25-13 nd 25-19. The Lady Eagles move to 15-11 overall and 1-0 in district play.

“I’m beyond proud of the girls and their performance against Teague for a couple of reasons. First of all, because we are becoming more and more consistent each day,” Fairfield Coach Kelly Ridge said. “Also, because they have completely embraced the importance of scouting and learning our opponent. Also, it was a program sweep with all three teams defeating Teague.”

When asked about their goal for the rest of district play, Ridge said, “Our goal is to study each team thoroughly, continue to perfect our skills, and win.”
