The Fairfield Eagles hosted Maypearl for their season opener on Friday night, Aug. 29, and came out with a 51-13 victory over the Panthers.
“I was excited with our effort against Maypearl,” Head Coach John Bachtel said. “We started off a little slow, but picked it up and played well.”
Fairfield led 23-0 at halftime and never looked back. The Eagles took a 37-7 lead into the final quarter of play. The clock ran the entire fourth quarter as Fairfield took a big 51-13 victory to kickoff the season.
