The Teague Lions came out on fire in their season opener and took a 39-7 home win over the New Waverly Bulldogs.
“I am very proud of the effort our guys played with on Friday night,” Coach Zachary Linscomb said. “Winning isn’t easy, so when you pull it off, you have to take the time to appreciate it. We definitely had some rust on us to start the season, but proud of how we responded and got it rolling.”
Teague gained 408 yards of offense as a unit during the game. On the defensive side, the Lions only gave up 150 yards and forced five takeaways.
